Ceramic Coating for Concrete

Read more about our ceramic coating for concrete below

Ceramic Coating is a spin-off from space travel technology, and it is used on concrete components that need protection against corrosion, wear and chemicals. The product is an advanced epoxy polymer that is reinforced with ceramic particles of various shapes and sizes. The product has a very high adhesion to the surface. The product is chemically hardening at regular temperatures, and several of the products are unique, as they can be applied to damp surfaces.

Ceramic Coating for concrete is typically used in alkaline as well as acidic environments (pH 1-14), for example at dairies, breweries, abattoirs, as well as in industry in general where CIP liquids and other chemicals have a corrosive and harmful effect on concrete. The ceramic coatings are for example used in storage tanks, buffer tanks, static tanks, wells, tank foundations, pump foundations, silos, weighing areas, strings of piping, fronts, capping and floors.

Ceramic coating has extreme properties, for example ARC CS4, which is often used on floors, has a compression strength of 95 MPa, a tensile strength of 21 MPa, and a hardness of 79 Shore D. The product does not contain any solvents and is therefore environmentally completely up-to-date, regarding working environment as well as the ecosystem.

There are several possible choices of ceramic coating for concrete, depending on the need for resistance to temperature, chemicals, wear or extreme mechanical stress.

First, deteriorated or damaged areas are repaired with ceramic coating with a layer thickness of up to 200 mm. After this, ceramic top coating designed with resistance to the environment is applied with a layer thickness of 0.5-1.0 mm.

Ceramic Coating for concrete is typically characterised by the following:

  • Very high resistance to corrosion at high temperatures
  • Very high resistance to chemicals at high temperatures
  • Very high resistance to wear and mechanical stress
  • Very high adhesion to the surface
  • Can be applied to damp concrete
  • Use soon after coating
